Improve your Italian in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere or just enjoy a good film by joining The Mill for their Italian film evening showing:

La Stanza del Figlio (The Son’s Room): starring and directed by Nanni Moretti. Giovanni is a successful psychoanalyst who has to put up with the seemingly endless string of trivial details his patients ramble on about. Yet his family provides a loving and steadfast foundation for his life that can even survive a problem like their son, Andrea, being accused of stealing a rare fossil in school. That foundation is profoundly rocked when Andrea dies in a scuba diving accident. Although the usual arrangements run smoothly, the emotional harm is profound. Giovanni begins to obsessively dwell on the missed chances he had with his son that might have saved his life, even blaming his patients. In addition , his wife is inconsolable and his daughter is becoming anti social in their loss. In the midst of this turmoil, a secret of their son's life is revealed that provides healing in a way they never anticipated....

To complement the evening you will have time to enjoy a selection of wine, charcuterie and cheese for only £10.

Both of them visited atleast 6 Barnaby Art exhibitions over Barnaby weekend and answered correctly the quiz questions and their names were pulled out of a hat. A stetson to be precise. Well done!

A reminder that we are selling the final raffle tickets in aid of Barnaby. They are only 50p a ticket with tremendous prizes including having a chef in your own home for an evening to cook for a dinner party! Marvellous!

What A Summer!

The Loop loves Windystock and will not only be dancing in the fields, with the stunning views of Teggs Nose Country Park, but will also be camping out (£2 per tent). All the better to enjoy that Festival feeling and celebrate the 19 bands packed into 12 hours of fabulous live music.
Tickets, priced at just £15, are now on sale from Margin Music, Magpie Music, Windyway Trust Shop and Windyways itself and please bear in mind that tickets sold out last year within a week. To avoid disappointment get yours soon!

Talking tickets, you won't want to miss Waterstone's very own Crime spree. When authors Kate Ellis and Chris Simms come to Macclesfield, Thursday 15 July at 7pm to talk about and sign copies of their latest books. £3 but redeemable against book purchase on the night.

And... if you only do one thing with the children this summer. Take them on a journey of the imagination, to an enchanted forest. Take them to the Just So Festival. There to play with Maisy Mouse and Spy Dog, attend a Moomin Party, go Pollocks (and get very messy), play on the beach (yes there's a real beach) and more than I can mention here. Something for the Weekend

A little late I'm afraid if, like us, you believe the weekend begins shortly after Wednesday but the Loop e-guide is on deadline and stealing our attention... Important to mention though the current array of visual delights. You'll find fine art at Open Art House in Wilmslow, Sat and Sun, 2-4pm featuring Jo Deas, Amanda Wigglesworth, Jenny Hirst, Sabine Kussmaul and Fiona Charis Carswell. There is also Art to please the eye over coffee and fine food at Al Panino, both weekend days; Claire de Ruiter runs a Summer Landscape Workshop (on Sat; and due to popular demand Moving Clay extends its exhibition in the gallery, upstairs at Duke's Court. It's a fabulous space and if you wish to see it more widely used please show your support and pay a visit.

The 1st Sunday of the month means the Hollins is hosting its regular Farmers' Market (with more stalls than ever) and Waterstone's Sunday Story Club provides entertainment for young lovers of the picture book, with storytelling, colouring, stickers and balloons.
