Loop 14 awaits

Normally at this time of the week we would be giving you ideas for things to do this weekend. Having been at the key board till 1am this morning finishing off the latest issue of the loop it would be mad (and tiring) to post repeats of whats already there. Hopefully you will have received your 14 page loop guide in your in box. I f not, mail us at maccloop@googlemail.com and we'll send one over.. One tip for the weekend though: get down to Unknown Treasures at Fresh tonight to hear bands battling it out find the last two to appear at Barnaby Rocks Out, the fantastic music alldayer also at Fresh on 19th June as part of the Barnaby Festival. Gig in a library:Worth the Hike?

Thursday May 27^th 7.30pm. Crewe Information Point Library: Swim into Scarlet Known for their intimate live performances and their unique fusion of mathrock riffs with synthy-dance vibe, Nantwich band ‘Swim into Scarlet’ have quickly drawn attention to themselves for their experimental indie dance persona. Hooker Gloriously brash Manchester based femme punk outfit and Smelt formed in 2007/8 who create a multi layered punk/grunge sound.

Boarhound bards

Upstairs at The Boarhound this Thursday - Quirky Acoustic Club hosted by Tim Woodhouse with his many friends and featuring the Bard of Burslem, Pete Shirley. Please put £1 in hat They start about 9pm.

Something for the weekend?

What better way to spend a warm Friday evening than with a cold beer at Discobawl with live bands and DJs in Ronnies courtyard.

Meanwhile Chelford Embroiderers are hosting their popular biennial event in the Village Hall with exhibition, stalls, demonstrationsbooks amd home made cake too.

Tomorrow its the fabulous Vintage 1950s Rock and surf Party with Vavoom and the Unshaggables. Dust off your dirndls and fettle up your crepes s and Rock.

Its the last weekend of the Garden Sculpture trail at One House nursery. The loop loves the life size sack cloth cow and calf in the meadow, great cakes in the eccentric tea room and the glorious restored Victorian walled garden with charmng gardener's bothy and green house. The rare breed pigs are rather charismatic too.
