Tim Woodehouse 'live' + Ian Coppack film= Loop Social

The loop is a sociable animal that likes nothing more than to be out on the tiles, indulging in a little cultural stimulation and bantering cheerfully with friends on a wide range of vital topics: the town centre redevelopment, where to get the best pint in town and the demise of Clegg’s Right Price Toiletries. With that in mind please join us for another Social at Ronnie’s Bar on 31 March. We are delighted that local idiosyncratic bard Tim Woodehouse will be performing his unique, warm and perceptive tunes for us, live. There will be delicious food (free) and drink available and we’ll be watching a local short film by Ian Coppack too. This is a deliberate divergence from the previous loop format, allowing us to relish some local talent and have lots of time for chat too.

Free but booking essential. maccloop@googlemail.com.

The forty year old Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar book cover: Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, 40th anniversary

'In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf." So begins Eric Carle's classic, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". This book follows the ravenous caterpillar's path as he eats his way through one apple (and the pages of the book itself) on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, and so on, through cherry pie and sausage... The book has a great story and Eric Carle's wonderful collage pictures.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of this iconic book, which was published in 1969.
On Saturday March 21st Waterstones on Mill Street are celebrating with fun related activities between 10.30 and 12pm. Free

Out of town: Farmer's Market

Just a reminder about the Cloverbank Farm Farmers Market this coming Saturday 21st March. From previous posts you may have noticed we rather liked this when we went to the last one. So much so that the loop will be there this Saturday, promoting itself with a stand but mainly munching steadily through the glorious range of organic, delicious food available.Come and say hello if you get a long to it. Theres a really good bustling atmosphere, plentiful parking and its even undercover should it rain.
Only genuine farmers, producers and craftspeople are allowed to sell their products – it is a fantastic opportunity to shop locally in a very friendly and relaxed environment. Refreshments are available including hot buns with Cloverbank organic meat. There's good stuff for Veggies too.
Most importantly seek out the pen of exceptionally charismatic piglets who live there...

The profit from the proceeds of the stall fees are donated to charity – currently East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield.
