The first senior commander to provide an account of the fighting in Afghanistan will be discussing his new book Danger Close: Commanding 3 PARA in Afghanistan at the Waggon and Horses on Sunday 6 September.The book offers a dramatic and often moving insight into the leadership of soldiers and the sharp end of war. Tickets, priced at £6, are available from Waterstones in Macclesfield and from the venue. (Proceeds will be donated to the Afghan Trust Charity.)
