The third Brushes with Wildlife Art Competition and Exhibition, organised by Macclesfield RSPB Wildlife Explorers and Bollington Arts Centre, culminated on Friday with ‘An Evening with The RSPB’. A full audience at Bollington Arts Centre included competition prize winners, Wildlife Explorer members and their families. The evening highlighted winning entries in both artwork and creative writing and showcased some short films on the work of the RSPB. From a fantastic selection of art entries the Overall Winner was announced as Imogen Walsh with her picture ‘Keel-billed Toucan’. In the poetry and prose section Overall Winner Henry Brett read his poem 'Gecko'.
The Brushes with Wildlife Exhibition celebrates the diversity of British Wildlife and this year, in support of The RSPB's 'Save the Sumatran Rainforest ' campaign, also included a category devoted to Rainforest Wildlife.
The Brushes with Wildlife Exhibition 2009 continues at Bollington Arts Centre on Sundays from 2 - 4.pm until December 13th.
