Tickets £4/£2 and a family value £10. St Peter's Church, Windmill St.

With a little more notice you can spend tomorrow in the park for the 17th Biddulph Folk Festival. Five and a half hours of music and a picnic with The Barflys, Banda Bacana and Cajuns Denbo. Tickets £11/£12 on the night. 01782 514896 http://www.biddulph.co.uk/

Or, be in tribute heaven, at Gawsworth Hall, with the Magic of Motown, singing and dancing along to the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Jackson Five and Marvin Gay. 7.30pm. Tickets £25. 01260 223456. http://www.gawsworthhall.com/

Before putting the perfect finish to your Sunday night with a jam session at the Jolly Sailor on Sunderland Street.

My friend and I were lucky enough to be at the Baths last night for a pint, when we discovered by chance that Catherine Taylor-Dawson was playing. What a voice! And what a great guitar player as well. Fantastic night. I strongly recommend people to check her out if she plays again.
