Something For The Weekend

You'd want to be there already... as Eats & Beats at St Pete's started with a BBQ at 6pm but there may still be music from Totally Random Band (does what it says on the tin), The Black Road Bodgers, Macc Music Centre Senior Choire and more... Tickets £4/£2 and a family value £10. St Peter's Church, Windmill St.

With a little more notice you can spend tomorrow in the park for the 17th Biddulph Folk Festival. Five and a half hours of music and a picnic with The Barflys, Banda Bacana and Cajuns Denbo. Tickets £11/£12 on the night. 01782 514896

Or, be in tribute heaven, at Gawsworth Hall, with the Magic of Motown, singing and dancing along to the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Jackson Five and Marvin Gay. 7.30pm. Tickets £25. 01260 223456.

Alternatively, if you want music to life the spirit and carry the soul find Catherine Taylor-Dawson at the Baths Hotel on Green Street. 01625 262884.

Before putting the perfect finish to your Sunday night with a jam session at the Jolly Sailor on Sunderland Street.

My friend and I were lucky enough to be at the Baths last night for a pint, when we discovered by chance that Catherine Taylor-Dawson was playing. What a voice! And what a great guitar player as well. Fantastic night. I strongly recommend people to check her out if she plays again.
