L'Artiste Gallery has recently opened its doors in Marton on the A34 and is owned by Lindsay Sommer who has had many years experience in the world of Fine Art in South Africa. Lindsay has sourced art from a number of UK artists and encourages art lovers to visit the gallery to view the eclectic range of work on display. The gallery has ceramics by Sue Gorman, pencil works in fine detail by Elizabeth Furniss, Lynne Wilkinson's bright oil paintings of animals and flowers and Suzy Shackleton's colourful modern designs created from mohair felt using ancient methods. There are works by a number of other artists on display. L'Artiste features a range of top quality one off pieces from a young South African jewellery designer who uses citrines, ostrich eggshell, coconut shell and leather.
T he gallery will have its official opening on Thursday 23rd September at 5.30pm when drinks and canapes will be served - please call on 01260 224344 to advise attendance.
