The auditions for the 2011 benefit production of The Vagina Monologues are starting again. They're open auditions, so any interested women should just go along. No acting experience is required - they're not looking for actresses or amateur dramatic types as much as for women who want to do something different for charity; who have suffered or are close to someone who has suffered from domestic abuse; who came to a performance this year and wanted to be a part of V-Day or simply want to challenge themselves with a unique experience.
The auditions are pretty informal and interested parties don't need to bring anything other than themselves (and possibly a friend for moral support or to stop them chickening out!). More info is on their website www.vdaymacclesfield.co.uk.
If you're considering it but fancy finding out a bit more from some of the women who actually took part this year, join their Facebook group (search 'V-Day Macclesfield' or use the link on their site) and they'll be happy to share their experiences.
