'Back to back shows, as last Wednesday's theme of fine female voices enhanced by fabulous playing continues into THIS October. Husband and wife team MEGSON return to The Biddulph Arms with their profile steadily on the rise after several Folk Awards nominations and numerous festival appearances. Incredibly already promoting their fourth cd 'The Longshot'; comprising another collection of cameos from an industrial North with the title track highlighting the highs and lows of following your local football team. All of which sounded very impressive when I saw them in Leicester over the Summer. And talking of 'impressive', support comes from Shropshire trio FLAXENBY with again, superb guitar/mandolin and fiddle topped by one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.'
