Biddulph Up in Arms:

Returns to action this Wednesday night (Mar 16) when Gren Bartley makes his first visit to Biddulph. Described as a ''phenomenal guitarist and singer'' Gren's music mixes folk, blues, country....pretty much anything that comes under the folk umbrella. Hence his playing is often compared to Nic Jones, Kelly Joe Phelps and particularly Richard Thompson with whom her shares a stylistic similarity. He appeared at last year's Shrewsbury Folk festival..

Support comes from Canadian Chuck Micallef .

 Weds Mar 16 @ The Biddulph Arms  8pm  Admission £10  Tel 01782-514896

the loop is not a particularly sporty creature, but is always keen to prod you off the sofa, away from cash heavy tv sport and get you to engage with the  'theatre of the pitch' and support local clubs.So...

Jobs Alert

Public Artist

Cheshire East Council’s Arts, Heritage and Museums department in partnership with Brereton Parish Community Interest Group seek to commission a public artist with a specialism in wood to create a high quality permanent piece of art as a gateway to the Brereton Community Space development.

The concept of a ‘Totem Pole’ has been agreed, the purpose of which is to provide a unique piece of art bespoke to the local community, the service users of the Community Space and the heritage of the surrounding area.
The successful commissioned artist will work with the local community including schools and identified community groups in a series of workshops to create the designs for the ‘Totem Pole’ which will then be interpreted by the artist. The project will run between April - September 2011.  For a full brief please contact jocelyn.mcmillan@cheshireeast.gov.uk
