Cheshire East Council’s Arts, Heritage and Museums department in partnership with Brereton Parish Community Interest Group seek to commission a public artist with a specialism in wood to create a high quality permanent piece of art as a gateway to the Brereton Community Space development.
The concept of a ‘Totem Pole’ has been agreed, the purpose of which is to provide a unique piece of art bespoke to the local community, the service users of the Community Space and the heritage of the surrounding area.The successful commissioned artist will work with the local community including schools and identified community groups in a series of workshops to create the designs for the ‘Totem Pole’ which will then be interpreted by the artist.
