Poetry Workshops

Poetry writing for beginners

Give your creativity a spring clean with a series of four workshops in the friendly atmosphere of Button & Skein’s beautiful shop.

Led by former Cheshire Poet Laureate Jo Bell, they’ll touch on how good poetry works and read contemporary examples. Write poetry from personal experience and explore your own style. Work from a selection of objects and memories to develop new material. And there is always good cake!

Jo travels the |Uk exhaustively, doing workshops, delivering poetry performances and organising World Poetry Day. With that in mind, she is always slightly puzzled by the lack lustre poetry following she finds in Macc compared to other parts of the country. Why do you think this is? The loop thinks we are uniquely lucky to have Jo's perceptive and irreverent voice in our midst, so prove her wrong and get along to those workshops.
