CHUMBAWAMBA are at Biddulph Town Hall tonight.
Best known for chart-topping hit 'Tubthumping' and provocative acts at the Brit Awards they have actually developed a rather lovely, folky sound. Whilst retaining their lyrical bite, harmonies abound with guitar, accordion and trumpet to the fore. Their set at The Big Session festival a fortnight ago was packed with humour and visual surprises, earning them a standing ovation. Support comes from local band The Nanateas and the start time is 8pm. Tickets are £15 and obtainable on 01782-514896. Take along your own food and drink for another party atmosphere.
