After a hugely successful second Barnaby in June 2011, work is starting on next year’s Festival – there are just 9 months to plan a weekend long event with exhibitions, events and activities.

Anyone interested in finding out more about what’s involved in becoming a volunteer for BARNABY 2012 is invited to come along and meet some of the team at Snowgoose Cafe Bar on Wed

Something for the weekend?

One word should suffice. Barnaby.

Actually there is also the glorious Farmers Market at Cloverbank on Saturday and the start of a Food an d Drink festival in Congleton on Sunday.

Theres bonkers cabaret tonight in Macc and Marionettes in the Library. Flaming Fire Show in the Market Place at 11.30. On Saturday Rock Out with Barnaby at the Fresh all dayer, get down with younger bands at Toast ( not Repent as in Brochure) after watching the wonderful parade, picnicing at the fete and getting hands on in the sculpture garden.Try and catch the Macc related film Control at Cinemac at 10pm ( not 11pm ). Have a good breakfast (at the Waters green foodie's market?) on Sunday before hitting the Art Market in St Michaels Church Yard,Frii Spray and the the Monkey Run Opera and a host of free events in the Market Place. Must get my strenghth up, there's serious fun to be had. PS Pick up an Art card ( Barnaby Stall in the Market Place) to guide you round the 22 Art venues. Yes thats right 22...

Join the Parade!

Barnaby Parade 19 June

The key event kicking off the Saturday morning of the Macclesfield Barnaby Festival weekend is the Costume Parade which will thread through the town, starting at 11.00 on the morning of Saturday 19^thJune. Starting and finishing in central Macclesfield the Parade will wind its way through the streets to give schools, businesses, clubs and community groups of all ages, from all round the town, the chance to showcase their unusual talents, their musical skills and their creative genius. There will be a visually alluring, audibly noticeable, on-foot, costumed procession, with the theme ‘Made in Macc’, interpreted in a multitude of eye-catching ways!

Perhaps you can create something large and splendid to carry in your group and coule leave it in the Barnaby Sculpture Garden for the weekend ( will be taken in at night).

If you are a group, large or small who would like to be part of this spectacle, we would love to hear from you. Clubs and Societies, adults and children, pubs and bars, shops and cafes - there is a pool of talent out there in Macclesfield, this is your chance to show the town what you can do.Lose your inhibitions and make your mark!
