Curiosities and spin

We are intrigued by the next lecture for the Friends of Silk Heritage on Wednesday. Keith Warrender a photographer from Timperley, with interests in architecture and history unlocks the secrets of some of the regions historical gems and unusual customs.

A thought provoking start to the new year is the Lit and Phil lecture at the library on Thursday 'The influence of the media on politics' with John Harris. He writes on politics and popular culture for The Guardian. His books include The Last Party: Britpop, Blair and the Demise Of English Rock, and So Now Who Do We Vote For?, published to coincide with the 2005 General Election. He is also a regular panellist on BBC2's Newsnight Review.

Thanks to Yvonne Phillips for her beautiful snow picture.
